Nocturne

The mechanic

Nocturne's ultimate darkens every enemy's screen wherever they are, and lets him fly to one of them from a long way off: 2500 to 4000 units depending on rank, not the whole map.

Why it needs saying

An ultimate that engages for the whole team is only worth something if the team follows. The call belongs before the fight, not during it.

When you play them

  1. team chat

    what you type

    ult incoming dont back

    in full english

My ultimate is coming, don't back off.

    the context

"Incoming" announces something on the way, common for a long-range ultimate or an approaching enemy. As with Shen, without this line your ally disengages during the travel time.

  2. team chat

    what you type

    when i ult everyone follow

    in full english

When I ult, everyone follow immediately.

    the context

A conditional instruction given in advance beats a panicked call: the team knows what to do before it happens, and does not have to read chat mid-fight.

When an enemy plays them

  1. team chat

    what you type

    noc 6 care all lanes

    in full english

Nocturne is level six, careful on every lane.

    the context

His ultimate darkens everyone's screen and flies him onto a target up to 4000 units away. Nocturne hitting six is a warning for all three lanes, like Twisted Fate's.
