Renata Glasc

The mechanic

Renata's W gives an ally five seconds of rising attack and movement speed. If that ally dies during it, they come back at full health and burn to death over the next seconds, unless they get a takedown, which stops the burn and leaves them at 20% health. Her ultimate sends enemies berserk: they attack their own team first.

Why it needs saying

Two mechanics that flip your reflexes: a dead player has to attack, and enraged enemies have to be left alone. Without an explanation, the revived teammate runs and dies twice.

When you play them

  1. team chat

    what you type

w on you if you die kill someone

    in full english

My W is on you: if you die, kill someone.

    the context

The strangest call in the game, and the truest. A teammate who dies under the W comes back at full health and burns: they have a few seconds to get a kill or an assist, or they die for good. Running is dying. Attacking is surviving.

  2. team chat

    what you type

they are berserk let them hit each other

    in full english

They are berserk, let them hit each other.

    the context

"berserk" is the effect of the ultimate: enemies hit by it attack their own champions first. The team has nothing to do during those seconds except stay out of range and not offer them a closer target.

When an ally plays them

  1. team chat

    what you type

renata w me i go in

    in full english

Renata, W me, I'm going in.

    the context

The request from the ally's side settles who gets the second life. With 800 units of range, Renata can cast it from afar, and whoever has it can dive where nobody else would.

When an enemy plays them

  1. team chat

    what you type

dont kill her w target wait

    in full english

Don't kill the target under Renata's W, wait.

    the context

A Renata ally who dies under her W comes back at full health and has to get a kill to survive. Killing him during the effect gives him a second chance: back off for five seconds, then resume.
