The mechanic

Shen's ultimate teleports him to any ally anywhere on the map and shields them, so a fight across the map can turn into a two versus one.

Why it needs saying

An unannounced Shen ultimate is a wasted one: the ally disengages before it lands. No champion in the game converts communication into damage this directly.

    "Play for it" means build the play around that resource: take a fight you would not take otherwise.

When an ally plays them

    The mirror call. Knowing an ally can arrive changes the value of a fight entirely.
