Thresh

The mechanic

Thresh collects souls from units dying near him, and can throw a lantern that pulls an ally to him through walls.

Why it needs saying

The lantern is the most-missed rescue in the game, because it needs the ally to click at the right moment, while being hit. Three words are enough to make it work.

When you play them

  1. team chat

    what you type

    take the lantern

    in full english

Take the lantern, click it now.

    the context

The lantern stays on the ground for six seconds, but the moment it saves someone lasts one, so the message has to be short and instant. Many players do not know they have to click it, which is why the second half matters.

  2. team chat

    what you type

    let me get souls

    in full english

Let me pick up the souls, they make me tankier and stronger.

    the context

"Tankier" is the comparative of tanky. Each soul gives one point of armor and one of ability power, permanently. The souls cost your ally nothing — they just need to not push the wave while you collect them.

When an enemy plays them

  1. team chat

    what you type

care thresh hook stay behind minions

    in full english

Careful, Thresh's hook, stay behind minions.

    the context

Thresh's hook stops on the first minion it hits. Standing behind the wave is the one defence that costs nothing, and the most forgotten.
